Tory has made it his definite chief aim to grow high quality trees for landscape contractors.  Through DCA Outdoor, he has created a superior supply chain through a network of company-owned growing operations in six states.  

 

He incorporated landscape distribution (KAT, Brehob Nurseries, PlantRight Supply), retail and agritourism (Colonial Gardens), and networking/transportation (PlantRight, Utopian Transport) to create a streamlined way of doing business that no other company like DCA has accomplished.  He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Business Administration Management.  

 

He founded DCA Outdoor in 2016 to serve as the corporate office to include company executives, sales & marketing teams, human capital, and finance departments. 

Named as President of Business Development in 2018, Devon is charged with managing key relationships for our production brands.  Born and raised in Oregon, he attended the University of Oregon and has over 25 years of industry experience, mostly in nursery management.  

 

He started his career managing a large bareroot nursery in Oregon and has also managed nursery operations in Oklahoma and Maryland prior to joining the team as the President of Schwope Brothers Tree Farms in 2015.  A long-time passionate and well-known industry expert, one of Devon’s greatest accomplishments is being one of the first to export bareroot trees to China, a market that did not previously exist. 

Todd joined our company in Spring 2023 as our Chief Financial Officer after serving in several previous financial roles as well as an adjunct position at the University of Kansas and University of Missouri.  In addition, he also founded and ran a business financial consulting practice for nearly twenty years. 

 

He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  In his role, Todd will be responsible for the financial wellness of our company and lead acquisition activities.

Todd lives in Smithville with his wife and two children.  He enjoys attending his children's activities, playing golf, fishing, and spending time with his friends at the lake.

Eric serves as our company's first Chief Marketing Officer, bringing his vast expeirence with marketing and technology with significant consumer, e-commerce, and B2B experience.  He excels at building brands and commercializing products that benefit our world.  Eric is accountable for brand positioning, product marketing, revenue acquisition, and talent attraction utilizing technology as a key driver of success.  He studied at George Washington University and received his undergraduate degree from Wheeling Jesuit, where he also pursued his MBA.

 

Eric is an outdoor enthusiast and avid sports fan.  He and his family began raising chickens and planting gardens as well as an orchard in 2014.  By 2019, his family produced over half of their own food.

Joining the company in 2024, Crystal sees the most important parts of her position is to listen, advocate, and create a culture where employees are proud to live out their 'hire to retire' plans.   She sees working at DCA Outdoor as a position that aligns with her own personal values.  Holding an MBA, Crystal has prior work experience with not only several Fortune 500 companies, but also her own small businesses.  That role as an entrepreneuer has leveraged her ingenuity to think outside the box and the corporate positions helped her look at organizational designs and launch development plans to maximize the potential of employees.  

 

Crystal has lived in the Kansas City area since high school and is married with one adult son.  She enjoys fitness, wellness, and nutrition and doing anything outside, especially if a beach is involved.
